Frequently asked
Questions parents actually ask.
Mostly printing questions, a few age-fit ones, and the refund and re-download answers that Etsy handles for us. If something here doesn’t match what you’re seeing, the contact form is the quickest way through — same inbox, same person, two cats in the room.

US Letter or A4 — which should I print?
Each pack ships with both. Open the file that matches the paper in your tray and the artwork fits the page without cropping. US Letter is the default in North America; A4 is the default almost everywhere else. If you bought on Etsy, the download link gives you both — pick the one your printer takes.
Any tips to save ink?
Switch your printer to draft or eco mode for the early-coloring sheets (the thick-line versions take ink fast). Black-and-white only on the tracer and mazes is friendly to inkjet cartridges. The cover and mini-book pages are the only ones that really need full colour.
How do I fit a Letter pack onto A4 paper?
Use your printer dialog’s “Fit to page” or “Scale to fit” toggle — the artwork will shrink slightly and the margins grow so nothing gets clipped on a slightly narrower sheet. The A4 file already accounts for the difference, so most families only need the scale trick when they’ve printed the wrong file by accident.
What paper weight should I use?
Standard 80–90 gsm (about 20–24 lb) copy paper is fine for coloring and tracers. If you’re building the mini-book, bump up to 100–120 gsm (around 28–32 lb) so the staple holds and the folds don’t tear at the corners.
Age fit
Which pack suits which age.
How is the 3–5 vs 6–8 vs 9–10 split decided?
Every activity has two difficulty tiers on the same page — a thicker line, fewer turns, larger shapes for the early tier, and a thinner line, more detail, longer paths for the older tier. The age band on each pack label points to the range the bundle was tested against, but most packs honestly span two bands.
Can a five-year-old and a nine-year-old share one stack?
Yes — that’s the whole point. The two-tier layout means they finish around the same time on the same theme, so the older kid doesn’t race ahead and the younger one doesn’t get left at the table. It’s the kitchen-table version of a shared activity.
What if my kid is younger than three or older than ten?
Under three, the line-art packs work as colouring for a parent with a marker — the child scribbles while you hold the page. Over ten, the mazes and the unfolded mini-book pages still work as a quiet five-minute break; the older tier on most packs is roughly skill-level for a confident ten-year-old.
Templates
Editing the cover and templates.
What file format does each pack ship in?
The main pack is a PDF — Letter and A4 in the same archive — sized for any home printer. The optional editable cover ships separately as a PowerPoint (PPTX) file and as a Google Slides link, so you can swap the child’s name on the front without redrawing anything.
What tools open each file?
The PDF opens in any browser, in Preview on Mac, in Adobe Reader, and on most phones — no special app needed. The editable cover opens in Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote (import the PPTX), or Google Slides (File → Open). If you don’t need to edit the cover, you can ignore it entirely.
How do I swap a name on the cover?
Open the editable file in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides, click the name text box on the cover, type the new name, and save. Then print the cover on slightly heavier paper (100–120 gsm / 28–32 lb) so the front sheet holds up to a staple.
Refunds

What’s the refund policy in plain language?
Plumdot packs are digital goods — instant-download. Once the files are delivered, the sale is final in the strict sense, but if something is wrong with the file or the page doesn’t print the way it should, get in touch and we’ll fix it or refund the bundle. Etsy handles the official refund mechanics from your side.
How do I actually file a refund?
Send a note through the Etsy shop first — open a conversation on the order and describe what went wrong (wrong file, missing page, print issue). If the conversation stalls, drop me a line through the contact form on Plumdot Studio and I’ll step in directly. The full policy lives on the Etsy listing page linked below.
Re-downloads
Re-downloading after purchase.
How do I get the files back after buying?
On Etsy: sign in → click You → Purchases and reviews → find the Plumdot bundle → click Download files. The link stays live for as long as Etsy keeps your order history, so you can come back to it months later from any device you’re signed into.
What if the download link has expired?
Open the order on Etsy and look for the “Report a problem” or “Download files” button on the purchase — Etsy has renewed longer-lived links over the years, and re-opening the order usually refreshes the link. If the bundle is still missing from the order, send a note through the Plumdot contact form with your Etsy order number and I’ll re-send the archive directly.
